Rogue Banker, Akingbola To Forfeit Paltry £9mTo InterContinental Bank; AGF Adoke To Receive £1.5m For His Help.

Erastus Akingbola

The former Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria's InterContinental Bank, Erastus Akingbola, has applied Nigeria’s Attorney General Bello Adoke to refund only a paltry £9 million to the bank.

A High Court in the UK recently ordered Akingbola to deposit £68 million with the bank as he could not justify how he came about the wealth, an order that he denied when exposed by SaharaReporters.

The rogue banker, who is a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, twisted that report, claiming that the court never ruled that on such matters.

Instead, he cited a peripheral court scheduling proceeding on the matter.

Still seeking to hang on to the vast sums of money, Akingbola approached the Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke  (SAN), in an attempt to relinquish only a small fragment of his loot to his former bank.

The twist in the tale, according to sources, is that Mr. Adoke will receive £1.5 million for himself to sign off on the deal.  The Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Lamido Sanusi, is opposing the proposal.  He is said to be insisting that the UK court give a final judgement on the matter.

Akingbola raided the treasury of his former bank and carted away over £100 million to shell accounts in the UK.  He owns several properties in London through fake companies owned by him, family and his associates in Nigeria.
