Another bomb explosion has rocked the Kabala West area of Kaduna this evening (Sat April 16,2011) .It was an unfortunate end to the rather peacefully conducted presidential poll across the state.
Our reporter said details of the explosion were very sketchy but ,it was learnt that the bomb was planted at Gini Hotel located along the road in the area .But other sources said said it took place at Happy Night hotel.Fortunately but there was no report of death .But two people were said to have been injured and taken to the hospital.
Earlier in the day, supporters of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) had clashed in the area over the authentic agent of the party at the various polling units.
The person suspected to have planted the bomb there was said to have been arrested after the bomb exploded on him while trying to plant it.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Aminu Lawan when contacted reportedly said he was not aware of the incident, but said he was making efforts to contact the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area.Lawan said he has just returned to the state from a journey and has not heard anything about the explosion.
Ahead of the National Assemby elections conducted last week,the police in Kaduna had intercepted over 100 strands of dynamites which the police said were to be used to blow up specific areas within the metropolis and disrupt the polls.
