A judge of the Federal high court in Abuja earlier today declared former military administrator, Olatunji Olurin the "authentic candidate" of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming gubernatorial election in Ogun state.

Olurin was nominated by a faction of of the PDP in the state at a party primary held at former president Olusegun Obasanjo's library in Abeokuta.

The decision leaves the embattled governor of the state, Olugbenga Daniel in the lurch, although his camp told Naija News Desk that they have appealed the decision, it not clear if the appeal will be heard in time to resolve the issues before the general elections in April.
