'Ojukwu died when the Igbo nation needed him most' was the word of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as Nigerians trooped out yesterday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to pay their last respect and tributes to the late Biafran leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
The president who was represented by the Vice President, Namadi Sambo, described the late Ikemba as an advocate of justice, peace and great lover of good service, who provided exemplary leadership to his people.
The remains of the former Biafran leader arrived from London aboard a British Airline flight yesterday. His body was received at the International Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja, where he received full military honour reserved only for top military officers.
The body was taken aboard an Air Force jet to Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport Owerri, enroute other ceremonies in the South-Eastern states.
