Nigeria nosedives to 57 in FIFA ranking.

Nigeria on Wednesday nosedived by a step, in both FIFA and CAF rankings, for the month of March.
Super EaglesThe country moved from its previous 56th ranking in the World in Feb. to the 57th and from eighth place in Africa to the ninth position.
The development was an indication that the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), the body responsible for football administration, had yet to stem the steady fall of the national team.
Nigeria garnered a total of 557 points to occupy the 57th position in the FIFA rankings, released on its website on Wednesday.
While reacting to the development, Mitchell Obi, a popular sports analyst, said the slide was nothing to worry about.
"It has been a free-fall for some time now. One only hopes that the rise will be as eventful as the speed at which we have fallen."
According to him, to rise again, we must prepare well to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations.
"We must also put in our best to also qualify for the World Cup. Once we are able to make it to those two major competitions, we shall be on our way to recovery.
"It is scandalous that we are unable to be in the top 20 in the World at any given time. The fans give it their best, the Government provides the money, and we are not getting good results,’’ Obi said.
Obi, however, hoped the administrators could retrace their wrong steps by ensuring that all ongoing litigations were dispensed with and the football house become better focused.
"The sooner we chart a new course, the better we shall arrest the slide''. Another soccer pundit, Chris Eseka said.It tells the story of the state of Nigerian football. "It is an unflattering index and speaks of the confusion and a lack of planning of our football."
