Out of 71 senior lawyers that applied to be elevated to the revered rank of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SAN, the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee, LPPC, Thursday, selected only 25.
Among the new SANs that were named at the Supreme Court, today included Lagos based constitutional lawyer, Mr Femi Falana, lead prosecutor for the Economic and Finacial Crimes Commission, Mr Rotimi Jacobs, as well as two professors from the academia, Yemi Akinseye-George and Dakas Clement James Dakas.
Others are Mrs. Joy Okungbowa Adesina, Chief (Mrs) Connie-Jean Aremu, Mahmud Abubakar Magaji, Ogwu James Onoja, Garuba Usman Tetengi, Henry Oghogho Ogbodu, Selekeowei Larry, Abenny O. Mohammed, Charles Nwanne Obishai, and Luke Chukwudi Illogu.
As well as, Francis Chuka Agbu, Paul C. Ananaba, Akinlaja Dayo Moses, Ahmed Raji, Adekunle Theophilus Oyesanya, Rotimi Oluseyi Oguneso, Oluseye Samuel Opasanya, Aduroja Claudius Olumuyiwa, Aliyu Umar, Illo Katune Sanusi, and Ndukwe A. Nnnawuchi.
Announcing their names, the Chief Registrar of the apex court, Mr. Sunday Olorundahunsi who doubles as the Secretary of the LLPC, said their swearing-in would be conducted on a date to be announced later.
